ShipSaving now supports UPS On-Call Pickup® directly on our platform. This feature allows users to request a scheduled pickup for their UPS packages after purchasing a label, which will help them save time and improve operational efficiency.

What is UPS On-Call Pickup?

UPS On-Call Pickup is a paid service that allows a UPS driver to come to your specified location (usually your Ship From address) to collect one or more packages with a single pickup request. UPS pickups involve a small fee; that depending on your location, additional surcharges may apply.

Pickup Fees and Surcharges

UPS pickups involve a small fee; that depending on your location, additional surcharges may apply. Here’s a breakdown of typical costs when you ship with UPS on ShipSaving:

  • Future-day pickup: ~$4.25 (base rate)
  • Same-day pickup: ~$6.00 (only available in certain areas before carrier cutoff time)
  • Saturday pickup surcharge: $6.00
  • Remote or Extended Area surcharge: varies by ZIP code

All fees and surcharges are displayed before you confirm the pickup. If you cancel the pickup before it occurs, the full fee will be refunded to your ShipSaving balance. All pickup-related fees are logged in your Transaction History within ShipSaving.

How to Schedule a UPS Pickup on ShipSaving

Once you’ve purchased a UPS shipping label on ShipSaving, follow these steps to schedule a pickup:

  1. Go to your Shipments page in the dashboard.
  1. Click on “Request Pickup” and select UPS.
  1. Confirm or edit your Pickup Location (based on your Ship From address).
  1. Choose the pickup date and a time window.
  1. Enter the number of packages
  1. Select the UPS service you’re using (e.g., UPS® Ground, UPS Next Day Air® or Multiple).
  1. Indicate whether any package weighs more than 70 lbs.
  1. Review the pickup cost, including any location-based surcharges.
  1. Submit the request by clicking "Schedule Pickup".

You can add multiple service lines if you’re shipping different types of UPS services at once.

Note that UPS will not provide labels upon arrival—you must print and attach your labels before the pickup.

After submitting your pickup request, you’ll receive a confirmation email directly from UPS at the email address associated with your ShipSaving account. This email will include the scheduled pickup time, location, and a UPS Pickup Request Number.

Canceling a Pickup

Plans changed? Canceling a pickup is simple:

  • Click “Cancel” next to the scheduled pickup
  • The pickup fee will be instantly credited back to your balance

Cancellations are only allowed before the scheduled pickup window begins.

Same-Day Pickups: What You Should Know

Considerations for Same-day Pickups:

  • Request before 12:00 PM local time for the best chance of successful same-day pickup
  • Availability depends on driver capacity, route completion, and regional operations
  • Our recommendation: Use next-day pickup whenever possible to avoid missed pickups.

What If UPS Doesn’t Show Up?

If UPS misses your scheduled pickup—whether due to driver availability, route completion, or other operational reasons—and it hasn’t been canceled in advance:

  1. Please contact ShipSaving Support at support@shipsaving.com
  1. We’ll verify the situation with UPS and manually issue a refund to your account balance if applicable
  1. You can then reschedule the pickup at your convenience

Important: UPS does not notify us directly if they cancel a pickup on their end. You won’t receive an automatic refund unless you cancel the pickup yourself through the dashboard.

Prefer Drop-Off? That’s Always an Option

If you prefer not to schedule a pickup, that’s not a problem! You can find your nearest drop-off location here. UPS offers a global network of over 65,000 UPS Access Point® locations to drop off packages for free, drop off pre-labeled packages at nearby stores including:
