USPS 2026 Holiday Schedule

USPS follows the federal holiday schedule. There will be no USPS pickup or delivery services, and local post offices will be closed.

*If a holiday falls on a Saturday, for some USPS employees, the preceding Friday will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes.

UPS 2026 Holiday Schedule

UPS is a private company, so its holiday schedule is different from USPS. One important thing to know is that UPS Express Critical® will still be available during these dates, but this service is mainly for urgent or emergency shipments. For the holiday season, online sellers are encouraged to plan ahead and ship early to avoid delays.

Sunday - April 5, 2026 Easter

• UPS® Domestic Ground, Air & International will be closed.

Saturday - July 4, 2026 Independence Day

Thursday - November 26, 2026 Thanksgiving Day

Thursday - December 24, 2026 Christmas Eve

• Delivery of UPS® Air, international Air, UPS® Standard and UPS® Ground packages.
• Pickup service available only for Air and international Air packages if prearranged by Friday, Dec. 18. UPS On-Call Pickup® service is available to all customers for Air and international Air packages. 

Friday - December 25, 2026 Christmas Day

• UPS® Domestic Ground, Air & International will be closed.
• The UPS Store® locations may be closed. Check with your local store for specific hours of operation.

Thursday - December 31, 2026 New Year’s Eve

• Delivery of UPS Air and international Air packages only. 
• Pickup service available only for Air and international Air packages if prearranged by Monday, Dec. 28. UPS On-Call Pickup service is available to all customers for Air and international Air packages.

Friday - January 1, 2027 New Year’s Day

• UPS® Domestic Ground, Air & International will be closed.
• The UPS Store® locations may be closed. Check with your local store for specific hours of operation.

FedEx 2026 Holiday Schedule

FedEx follows a holiday schedule similar to UPS and offers a 24/7/365 emergency shipping service called FedEx Custom Critical®. On fully closed holidays (such as Memorial Day), regular FedEx services are unavailable. On certain holidays (such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day), FedEx remains open but may have earlier pickups or drop box closures in some areas. See the details below.
