We want to inform you about an issue affecting some USPS shipments where tracking numbers are being recycled, causing confusion with tracking updates. This situation is known as “label recycling” and typically occurs when the USPS prematurely reuses tracking numbers.

What You Need to Know
1. Tracking Information: Due to the recycling of tracking information by the USPS, some tracking numbers might show as already delivered or incorrect.

2. Parcel Delivery: Despite the misleading tracking information, rest assured that your parcels are still in transit and will be delivered to the correct address within 1-2 weeks.

3. Affected Tracking Numbers: If your tracking number is affected, it will not display correctly on the USPS tracking system. However, these numbers are still valid, and your parcels will reach the intended recipients.

The Postal Service has temporarily suspended international mail acceptance to the Central African Republic due to unavailability of transportation, effective on Feb. 16, 2024.

UPS, FedEx and USPS suspend some services as Hurricane Ian hits Florida

Parcel carriers suspended services and operations in parts of Florida as Hurricane Ian made landfall Wednesday and caused destruction in the southwest portion of the state.

As of Thursday morning, UPS’ website listed more than 800 Florida ZIP codes in which no pickups or deliveries would be made due to the storm.

FedEx is also adjusting its operations in response to Hurricane Ian. On Wednesday, the company listed 383 Florida cities in which its Ground segment has temporarily suspended service, including in Tampa, Orlando and Miami. FedEx Express paused service in 151 cities.

The U.S. Postal Service said in a notice Thursday that all retail and delivery operations have been suspended until further notice for facilities in the 328, 329, 342 and 347 three-digit ZIP code areas in Florida. “No alternate sites are available,” it added.

Service Alert due to Situation in Eastern China

USPS , UPS , DHL and FedEx have temporarily suspended imports into certain areas of eastern China (Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province) because of new Covid lockdowns affecting the area.

USPS - still accepting mail to these locations but likely is holding it at its international service centers in the US until shipments to East China can resume.

UPS - temporarily suspended imports into certain areas of eastern China (Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province).

DHL - temporarily suspended operations to and from East China to corresponding DHL service airport codes: SHA, HGH, PVG, and SZV.

FedEx - all inbound services into Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi are temporarily suspended.

FedEx service in Los Angeles may be impacted due to Super Bowl LVI Sunday

Super Bowl will be held this Sunday at SoFi Arena in Los Angeles, and FedEx Express will be responsible for the trophy delivery service. Due to government security measures for trophy transportation, from February 5th - 13th, some services may be affected in the following areas.

Weather Alert – Winter Storm Landon May Cause Shipment Delays

Due to freezing rain in the Memphis area and snow in the Indianapolis area.
Potential delays are possible for package deliveries across the U.S. with a delivery commitment of February 3, 2022.

FedEx - FedEx Express experienced substantial disruptions at the Memphis and Indianapolis hubs.

UPS - UPS services across the Midwest, and parts of the South and Northeast, have been impacted by severe weather. While all UPS facilities are providing pickup and delivery services as conditions permit, some delays are possible.

DHL Express - A major winter storm causing heavy snow and ice, freezing temperatures and hazardous conditions may impact our operations in the central U.S.  As a result, DHL delivery service may be delayed.

New Customs Regulation: South Korea B2C E-commerce Import Shipments

Effective from Oct 1, 2023, all B2C e-commerce de-minimis shipments destined for South Korea must provide a Personal Customs Clearance Code (PCCC).

All information, such as name, contact details, and PCCC, must be provided by shippers in advance, to facilitate customs clearance upon the arrival of shipments in South Korea. Shipments with missing information may face potential customs clearance holds or delivery delays.

USPS Ground Advantage will combine USPS Retail Ground®, First-Class Package®, and Parcel Select Ground® services (as well as returns options such as First-Class Package Return® service and Ground Returns) into a single, streamlined ground shipping service.

USPS Ground Advantage Will Feature
1. $100 insurance included for both retail and commercial customers, USPS Ground Advantage outbound and return parcels.

2. Package forwarding and return to sender endorsements will be included for the USPS Ground Advantage product offering.

3. Free package pickup on the carrier’s route.

USPS New Customs Requirements for Packages to European Union

If you're shipping packages to countries that follow European Union (EU) customs rules, there are new customs regulations you'll need to follow. If you don't provide more-detailed content descriptions on your customs forms, your packages may be returned or refused.

Starting March 1, 2023:
1. New customs rules apply to all outbound international packages going to European countries that follow EU customs regulations. This includes small personal gifts, ecommerce orders, and military and diplomatic mail (APO/DPO/FPO).

2. Every item in your package must be listed on the customs declaration form.

3. For each item's description: You can't just name a general category; your description must be specific. For example, you can't just say "electronics"; you have to be specific about the type of electronics, like "computer," "mobile phone," or "television."

Discontinuation of Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes A and B

Effective January 22, 2023 (and subject to approval by the Postal Regulatory Commission), Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes A and B will be discontinued, and the current pricing will no longer be applicable. Customers with Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes A and B in their inventory can still use them to ship, but they will be treated as weight and rate packages.

The United States Postal Service introduced the Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes A and B in 2011. They were created to combine the speed and convenience of Priority Mail and Priority Mail International shipping with zone pricing to potentially reduce commercial customers’ shipping costs.

The recommended alternative is Priority Mail Cubic. Priority Mail Cubic is a sub-service of Priority Mail in which the commercial customer ships using their own packaging and the pricing is based on the outer dimensions of the package rather than weight. This option offers similar cost savings as Priority Mail Regional Rate boxes. Priority Mail Cubic packages must measure 0.5 cubic feet or less, weigh 20 pounds or less, and the longest dimension may not exceed 18 inches. Priority Mail Cubic has zone pricing with five price tiers up to 0.5 cubic feet.

DHL Express Terms and Conditions - Liability Updated

DHL's liability in respect of any one Shipment transported by air (including ancillary road transport or stops en route) is limited by the Montreal Convention or the Warsaw Convention as applicable, or in the absence of such Convention, to the lower of

(i) the current market or declared value, or

(ii) 22 Special Drawing Rights per kilogram (approximately $US 30.00 per kilogram). Such limits shall also apply to all other forms of transportation.

Under this international treaty, maximum carrier liability is 22 Special Drawing Rights (“SDR”) per kilogram of lost/damaged items. An SDR is an artificial currency unit maintained by the International Monetary fund for use in certain international transactions such as cargo claims.

In effect, the formula used is (Weight in kilograms X SDR value X 22). DHL’s liability is governed and limited by this formula.

Effective June 1, 2022, the Postal Service is amending the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) in various sections to discontinue the Special Handling—Fragile extra service.

New Mailing Standards for the Separation of Hazardous Materials

The Postal Service has issued an interim final rule that will become effective upon publication in the Federal Register on June 6, 2022, with new requirements for the separation of hazardous materials (HAZMAT).

In addition, the interim final rule restricts the mail class that may be utilized when shipping pre-owned, damaged or defective electronic devices containing or packaged with lithium batteries (such as cell phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, power tools, etc.) to USPS Retail Ground, Parcel Select, Parcel Return Service or Ground Return Service, and requires new marking requirements for these mailings.

These immediate changes are necessary to address a rise in incidents involving lithium batteries and other HAZMAT.

Although these requirements are effective June 6, 2022, the interim final rule provides a 30-day period for public comment, and a further final rule will be published that considers any comments.

We are pleased to inform you that the temporary weight limit restriction will be lifted as of June 8th. From this date, DHL will enable the pickup of pieces above 30 kg (66 lbs), and the standard weight restrictions will resume.

Effective Friday, May 28th, 2021 , DHL shipments will be subject to a temporary weight limit restriction of 66lbs (30kg) per piece. Please note that this restriction only applies to the actual scale weight to one single piece that originated from or destined to the USA.
